On April 9, the Hurun Research Institute released the Global Unicorn Index 2024, ranking the world’s startups founded in the 2000s, valued at least a billion dollars, and not yet listed on a public exchange. The cut-off for inclusion was January 1, 2024, with valuations updated to the date of release.

SVOLT Energy Technology Co., Ltd., headquartered in the Jintan district of Changzhou, secured the 71st place on this list with valuations of 62 billion yuan, marking its third consecutive appearance among the top 100 unicorns.

SVOLT is dedicated to providing customers with comprehensive new energy solutions. Its innovative products, particularly batteries for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and range-extended electric vehicles (REEVs), have demonstrated outstanding performance since last year. As of January 2024, SVOLT has produced and installed 400,000 battery packs for PHEVs. The company has also expanded its global footprint, with its facility in Thailand operating smoothly and ongoing cooperation with Southeast Asian energy tycoon Banpu Public Company Limited.

Since its establishment in Changzhou in 2018, SVOLT has grown in four phases through investments, equipment upgrades, and capacity expansions, evolving alongside the city. Its newly completed provincial-level new energy industrial park, a pivotal component of SVOLT’s fourth-phase project, is positioned as an environmentally friendly, AI-featured factory promising high standards and zero emissions. This park is poised to become a leading research center for EV batteries and an aggregation hub for the energy storage battery industry.
